A few days ago I came across Christian Vogelweith’s collection of 9 Gnome themes. They are some of the nicest themes I have come across. They are complete packs for GDM, GTK, Metacity, and Emerald, with wallpapers and icon sets. And best of all, Christian provides repositories for Intrepid and Hardy.
I ended up installing all of them, but might stick with the elegant looking Infinity for a while. Check out one of the screenshots from the Infinity page:
